No, that doesn’t mean what you might think it means. But you DO have to be willing to do what it takes for the sake of your craft. You might ultimately have to sacrifice certain aspects of your life to ensure that you will have success as a working actor.
Meaning, you must take the time to practice your craft. Stay up later, get up earlier, saying no to something in order to give yourself the time you need for you. When you’re working you can be on location for months at a time. Every day, you commit yourself both emotionally and physically to the role and it can be extremely exhausting. You must prepare yourself both mentally and physically for this type of challenge. We are occupational athletes! SO TRAIN every aspect of your being for your work.
